About
I’m Sergei, a photographer living in Berlin. I’m interested in the person behind the role, their everyday experiences, their ups and downs. I want to get to know them and make photographs that reflect who they are.
I’ve loved cinema since watching Titanic in 1998. Going to the cinema has been part of my life ever since. Berlinale became a turning point. Seeing actors in person and experiencing the festival made me feel like I was at the centre of the world.
I began exploring photography more deliberately when I moved to Berlin in 2020, through street photography and architecture. Today, I’m drawn to a cinematic, editorial approach, using the environment to bring out someone’s character and give their story a setting. Fashion is a direction I’d like to explore in the future.
I also explore painting and digital sculpture. I keep a small Sketchbook of studies and unfinished ideas.
Alongside photography, I build software and explore simulation, computer graphics and creative tools. I write about that side of my work in Technology & experiments.
