How I made a turtle photogrammetry and created a scene with it

This January I was in Derby, UK and made a photogrammetry of that turtle that was located by the river Derwent.

There was a bronze turtle sculpture and the size was just perfect to try AR Code application I read some time ago about.

It's iOS only application (for now), but it worked out pretty well for me. I went 3 times around the turtle and 3D model was created.

AR Code saves it in USD format. That's why it's so handy to import it to any 3D modern application because it's the open standard.

I imported it to Blender (usdz file), created a basic backdrop, applied a free material from BlenderKit and basic lights.

I had a rough idea what I want to do with that model. Some scene with a turtle / turtles, not just a backdrop and created funny sketch in Blender.

Blender is a good general purpose tool, but I like how quickly I can iterate my ideas with Unreal Engine so I created a simple scene in it as well.

Good luck with your photogrammetry and thanks for the attention!
